CHIVPR/KeFA Research Computing Resource
The CHIVPR/KeFA Server farm is an AMD processor Microsoft Windows cluster that is available to the University of Nairobi research community. The KeFA Server Farm follows the Windows Active Directory-model where researchers become members of the kefa.uonbi.ac.ke domain have access to Computing resources based on their research Group The Server farm has implemented Remote Desktop Services (RDS) a Microsoft Windows component that enables users to remotely run applications from any part of the world with Internet access.
Secure Wireless CHS Library
College of Health Sciences Faculty, Staff and Students can now access the University of Nairobi Internet through a Secure Wireless setup in the College Library. The system can support upto 64 concurrent users at any given time. The hardware to setup this was Donated by the University of Washington through a KeFA grant funded by the United States National Institutes of Health.
School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy Internet up
The two schools have the Intenet connectivity Restored courtesy of a KeFA donation of 2 Outdoor Access Points linking the schools to the University Local Area Network.
KeFA Advanced Research Methods Course 2012

The Centre for HIV Prevetion and Research donated 6 Gigabit Cisco switches to enhance the College of Health Science Connectivity and Serve Key Servers at the Information Technology Communication Centre.

The Most-At-Risk-Populations (MARPS) Project is PEPFAR program under the funding opportunity “Increasing Access to comprehensive HIV prevention Services for MARPS” in Central ad Estern Provinces of Kenya.
